November can be draining on my wallet. I have several relatives who have birthdays this month, so the gifts can accumulate quickly. I don’t mind giving; it lets them know that I’m thinking of them. To emphasize this, I like my gifts to be unique and personal. For this reason, I won’t got to eBay and buy the featured gift of the day, like an iPod. There are several unique and personal gifts options available.
The first gift is for the gamer in your life. At www.gametap.com, the gaming floodgates are opened. Gametap is a gaming portal. You ever wonder where old video games go to when they are no longer the cutting edge technology? Well, the answer seems to be gametap. They have hundreds of downloadable classic arcade, PC and console games. From the old school Pac-Man to Tomb Raider, Splinter Cell and more. As I understand it, they add new game titles to their offerings every week.
Gametap isn’t bad on the wallet either. It is a subscription based service, and the monthly fee is about $15. This is a pretty good deal for access to all of the games that they offer without the need for extra equipment like gaming consoles and extra controllers. It is important to note that you will need a broadband connection to benefit from this service. Gametap also offers a gift certificate if you want to give them a few months of prepaid access.
The next unique gift item can be found at www.ksolo.com. Ksolo is a karaoke website. I’m sure that you know someone who thinks that they are the next American Idol. This gift can let others break the news when you don’t have the heart to tell them, Paula Abdul won’t be calling. Then again, they could make it to the sites’ top performers list for those that really can carry a note. In addition to recording your karaoke masterpieces, you can email it to your friends or enemies, whichever applies. You can also listen to other singers from around the world. To be registered member, the person must be at least thirteen years old. This site is also a subscription based service. Ksolo offers several membership options and the price varies with each plan.
The final gift option is my favorite and in my opinion, the most unique. At www.photostamps.com you can turn some of those digital pictures that are sitting on your camera or computer into legal tender, mailing stamps. These are not novelty stamps, but valid postage. It merges practicality with a quality personal gift. However, you should expect to pay more than you would for the average stars and stripes stamp. The minimum order is a sheet of twenty stamps that will cost you just under $17. The price breaks start at two sheets, where the price per sheet is roughly two dollars cheaper.
These are just a few examples of the unique, affordable, and personal gifts that can be found online.
