Will going green be an imposition?

Not at all. There are different ways to go green from a technology perspective. The degree to which you take your greenness is up to you. The good news is that there are many options along the spectrum. Many people may feel that it is a fade or trend to use green technology, but the benefits are many and ripples throughout our personal and professional lives.

One of the first and easiest ways to begin going green is to consume less paper. This saves money not only on the paper that is printed, but other corollary expenses such as ink, tax, transportation, wait time, etc. Going paperless definitely a good first step.

What are some ways that small business and entrepreneurs can go paperless?
Three options come to mind. The first is using a Square reader to process credit card payments. The benefit is that sends the receipt of a transaction to a customers email account. SignNow is a service that forwards a document from your smartphone, computer, tablet or any other internet connected device to your clients for their signatures and vice versa. The last is a service called CardMunch that allows you to have a business card transcribed to your phone by taking a picture of the business card.

Tell me about CatalogChoice and Shoeboxed

Both of those are designed with individuals in mind. CatalogChoice removes you from mail lists so junk mail is not sent your way. While Shoeboxed catalogs business cards and receipts that you send them. They essentially scan them and place them in digital format for you. Another option is Scandigital which digitizes your photos, slides, and VHS tapes.
