The U.S. Navy is in the final stages of testing a railgun. What is so special about railguns? Two major differences. The first is that it doesn't use or need gun powder, it uses electromagnatism to fire the round. The next is that it's bullets/projectiles can travel as far as 220 miles in 6 minutes.
