Home Depot is accepting PayPal in roughly 2000 of their stores. This is one of the first moves to a new economy. Granted, PayPal is rooted in the traditional banking system, but it serves as a transition from the old guard to the new. The true agent of change could be BitCoin, which can be independent of other currency systems or exchanged into legacy banking systems.
